Confirmation of concerns of several EU countries regarding forest strategy

17/09/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 16 September, the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU published a report on the informal meeting of EU Forest Director Generals (7-10 September, in Maribor), which confirms the concerns of some delegations regarding the forest strategy (see EUROPE 12791/16). Several Member States present at the meeting raised concerns about their competences in the field of forestry, in particular regarding a legislative proposal for a framework for a Forest Observation, Reporting and Data Collection framework, and Strategic Plans for Forests.
