13/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Union and Ukraine signed, on Tuesday 13 July, a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a Strategic Partnership on Raw Materials in the framework of the European Battery Strategy and the EU Action Plan on Critical Raw Materials (see EUROPE 12552/1). The protocol covers: - mining conditions, including environmental and social standards; - the integration of raw and secondary materials necessary for the development of a battery sector; - Ukraine’s participation in theHorizon Europe framework programme. This strategic partnership is the second after the one signed with Canada (see EUROPE 12745/18).
