28/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the EU decided on Monday 28 June to extend the mandates of the EU Border Assistance Mission for the Rafah Crossing Point (EUBAM Rafah) and the EU Police Mission for the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL COPPS) by one year, until 30 June 2022. In a working document in March, the European External Action Service had argued for a two-year extension (see EUROPE 12669/18). German Brigadier General Jochen Deuer is expected to become Force Commander of the EUTM Mali mission on 7 July, replacing Spanish Brigadier General Fernando Luis Gracia Herreiz. Finally, Natalina Cea’s mandate as Head of Mission of EUBAM Libya was extended from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. (CG)
