Poland does not intend to close Turów mine, despite EU Court of Justice’s order

25/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Tuesday 25 May that Poland will keep the Turów coal mine open, despite the recent order by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) to immediately suspend lignite mining at the site (see EUROPE B12724A24). “This could endanger Poland’s energy security”, Mr. Morawiecki told journalists.
