25/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – A public consultation, launched by the European Commission on 19 May, is open until 17 June on a draft implementing decision laying down detailed rules for the implementation of the EU’s Single Use Plastics Directive (EU 2019/904) as regards the calculation, verification and reporting of data on the separate collection of plastic bottle waste. Under this Directive, the separate collection target for 2025 is 77% by weight of all such single-use bottles placed on the market and the target for 2029 is 90%. The method aims to allow comparability of data. The draft act also establishes the format in which Member States must communicate this data.
