28/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – The High Representative of the Union, Josep Borrell, expressed concern, on Tuesday 27 April, over the rise of nationalistic and divisive rhetoric in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He therefore urged, in a telephone conversation, the members of the Presidency, Milorad Dodik, Šefik Džaferović and Željko Komšić, to “engage in dialogue with each other and foster an environment conducive to unity, consensus and constructive engagement in the interest of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by lowering political tension and promoting reconciliation”. According to the European External Action Service press release, Mr Borrell also called on the leaders to seize the opportunity of this non-electoral year to make concrete progress in implementing the main reform priorities set out by the European Commission (see EUROPE 12676/34), with particular emphasis on electoral/constitutional reform and in advancing the Rule of law.
