GSA wants to accelerate adoption of EGNOS in transport sector

12/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 12 April, the European Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Agency (GSA) launched a new call for proposals to “accelerate the adoption of EGNOS in transport”, namely in the aviation, maritime, inland waterways and rail sectors. The EGNOS programme is a European complement to existing satellite navigation and positioning systems (such as GPS), using geostationary satellites to increase the performance of these systems in European coverage areas.
