24/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – A spokesperson confirmed to EUROPE that, on Tuesday 23 February, Dutch MEP Caroline Nagtegaal (Renew Europe) was appointed to draw up an own-initiative report on inland waterway transport, which she is scheduled to present to the European Parliament Transport Committee in the course of the next few weeks. The draft report by Nagtegaal, a former employee of the Rotterdam Port Authority (HbR), is expected to echo the “Strategic Agenda for Future-proof Inland Waterway Transport” presented by Renew Europe in November. In an interview with EUROPE on the subject, Nagtegaal, who was one of the agenda’s co-signatories, implied that this would be the case (see EUROPE 12618/13). (AC)
