MEPs validate compromise between EU institutions on 2021-2027 funds

22/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries approved (21 votes in favour, 6 against and 1 abstention), on Monday 22 February, the compromise text between EU institutions on the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), which amounts to €6.1 billion for the period 2021-2027 (see EUROPE 12616/8). €5.3 billion will be allocated to the management of fisheries, aquaculture and fishing fleets while the remaining sum will cover measures such as scientific advice, control mechanisms, market information, maritime surveillance and safety.
