10/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 10 February that the EU is sending additional Covid-19 medical supplies (including gloves, masks and protective gowns) to Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia in response to their request for assistance from the EU’s civil protection mechanism. The EU will use the stock stored in Greece, one of the RescEU medical equipment reserve host countries, to supply Montenegro and North Macedonia. The costs of procuring, storing and transporting the medical equipment will be fully funded by the European Commission in this instance. In addition, Slovakia and Germany are sending equipment to Montenegro and Serbia, and the Czech Republic is sending equipment to Moldova. The EU is coordinating the aid and will co-fund the transport costs for these deliveries through the civil protection mechanism. (AN)
