08/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 Feburary, the European Commission published an information note on the implementation by Denmark of a €255.5 million aid package to support mink fur farmers whose activities have been affected by the consequences of Covid-19. The Danish authorities consider that the scheme falls within the scope of the Agricultural Block Exemption Regulation (Regulation 702/2014). The scheme can be implemented immediately and does not need to be notified to and approved by the Commission under Community State aid rules. The aid will take the form of direct grants consisting of advance payments covering part of the value of the mink skin and the costs of slaughter. Aid under this scheme may be granted until 30 June 2023. (LC)
