25/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – A consultation carried out by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), published on Friday 22 January on the occasion of a meeting of the CoR’s Commission for Economic Policy (ECON), shows that local and regional authorities are not sufficiently heard in the preparation of national recovery plans in relation to the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the budgetary instrument at the heart of the Next Generation EU Recovery Plan. According to the 25 organisations of local and regional regions from 19 Member States surveyed, only six Member States (Finland, France, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Spain) have a structured and institutionalised dialogue with local and regional authorities to prepare the national plans.
