15/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – In the midst of a health crisis, the Dutch government—and consequently the Prime Minister, Mark Rutte—fell on Friday 15 January, because of a scandal linked to a discriminatory and abusive system to combat fraudulent family allowance payments, involving a number of representatives of the political class. This resignation will not have a major impact on the national electoral calendar. Parliamentary elections are scheduled for 17 March. In the meantime, the Prime Minister will conduct routine business while at the same time campaigning for the March elections. (PH)
