11/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – Some 74% of 27,700 Europeans questioned in a survey published on Monday 11 January by the European Investment Bank (EIB) said they intended to fly less frequently once the restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic were lifted, so that they could combat climate change. In addition, 79% stated that it was their intention to reduce their meat consumption or were already doing so. Likewise, 72% of Europeans surveyed felt that their own behaviour could make a difference in the fight against climate change; 40% of them were of the opinion that the easiest option for reducing their ecological footprint was to give up flying. Giving up their car was, on the contrary, seen as the most difficult option by 39% of Europeans, with the figure being higher for those respondents living in rural areas.
