European Parliament’s EPP Group strips Hungarian Tamás Deutsch of some of his rights but does not exclude him

17/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, 16 December, the European People’s Party (EPP Group) in the European Parliament decided not to exclude its Fidesz member Tamás Deutsch after he compared the group’s leader, Manfred Weber of Germany, to the Gestapo (the secret police under the Third Reich) at the end of November but did withdraw his rights to speak on behalf of the group in plenary and to be appointed a shadow rapporteur for the group.
