18/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 18 November, the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU in the Committee of Permanent Representatives adopted the extension of the European Network of Public Employment Services until 31 December 2027. The Interinstitutional Agreement also adds the objectives of the European Pillar of Social Rights and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Emphasis is placed on digital (teleworking) and climate change issues. Furthermore, the co-legislators paid particular attention to the fight against long-term unemployment. Only Hungary did not support the agreement, due to the mention of gender equality (see EUROPE 12576/30). The European Parliament adopted the Interinstitutional Agreement on Wednesday 11 November (see EUROPE 12600/8). (PH)
