Industry Ministers of the EU Member States will meet on Thursday morning, 19 November, in a meeting by videoconference (due to the pandemic) to discuss the update of the industrial strategy planned for early 2021 (see EUROPE 12561/8).
In this context, the German EU Council Presidency has submitted a series of questions ahead of time to feed into the speeches of the Member States. Each Minister is thus invited to identify two central aspects on which the update of the industrial strategy should focus.
The German Presidency will try to find out which measures could help the recovery socially and will be the most effective in implementing the dual green and sustainable transition “whilst safeguarding and raising the competitiveness of European industry at the same time”.
It will also seek to identify the adjustments needed to foster cooperation on industrial technologies and how to organize the relevant processes to make them more effective for all.
Member States have recently adopted conclusions in which they set out their vision for the industry in the short and medium term (see EUROPE 12600/20).
