ECONOMY: Member States’ budgetary measures to support their economies must be temporary, without being too short, insists the Commission

The national budgetary policies put in place to mitigate the socio-economic impact of Covid-19 must be temporary, without being “ withdrawn prematurely”, insisted the European Commission on Wednesday 18 November, on the occasion of the presentation of the traditional ‘autumn package’, the second stage of the budgetary process of the European Semester 2021 launched in September (see EUROPE B12562A12).
