Pact on Migration and Asylum, German Presidency now focusing on ‘progress report’ rather than on general political agreement in December

On Wednesday 18 November the national ambassadors to the EU took stock of the progress of work on the ‘Pact on Migration and Asylum’.

They were to follow up on the ministerial discussions of 13 November (see EUROPE B12601A2) and prepare for the next political debate, scheduled for the Home Affairs Council in early December, the original date of 4 December having been dropped by German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer due to a scheduling clash.
