20/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – According to the latest version of the agenda items for the next round of European Commission meetings, dated Monday 19 October, the European Commission has re-scheduled presentation of the initiative to guarantee fair minimum wages to 28 October. At one point, the European Commission had timetabled the initiative for 15 December. Postponement until this later date was a decision made by the Secretariat-General of the Commission following a negative opinion from the Regulatory Scrutiny Board, the independent body within the Commission that checks the quality of the institution's legislative work in order to improve European regulation. The negative opinion has since been removed, following clarifications from the Commission and its services. Both the RSB and the European Commission still consider the issue to be high priority.
