10/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission approved on Friday 10 July the disbursement of a second macroeconomic assistance tranche of €30 million to Moldova. This package consists of €10 million in grants and €20 million in low-interest loans with long maturities. This aid is intended to support the country's financial needs and accompany it in its reform process. Economy Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni praised the efforts made by the Moldovan authorities, citing “the improvement of the judicial system and the fight against corruption” in a statement. The EU institution also notes progress in financial services, the fight against money laundering and the implementation of the bilateral trade agreement. (MB)
