09/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 9 July, the European Commission unveiled the second list of “European Universities”. A total of 24 of these transnational alliances of higher education institutions - which will eventually become ‘inter-university campuses’ - were selected out of 62 applications received. They join a first batch of 17 alliances selected in 2019, bringing the number of ‘European University’ projects to 41. The aim of these alliances is to pool, with the financial support of the Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 programmes, their expertise, platforms and resources in order to offer common curricula or modules covering different disciplines (see EUROPE 12283/19).
