09/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – In a press release on 8 July, the European Commission welcomed the approval in “record time” of the amendments to the regional operational programme for the Polish voivodship of Warmińsko-Mazurskie to deal with the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, €15 million from the cohesion policy will be earmarked for the purchase of medical equipment (ventilators, ambulances, defibrillators, hospital beds, etc.), and €3.5 million will be dedicated to medical and care homes. Finally, €120 million will be earmarked to help SMEs that have suffered heavy financial losses as a result of the pandemic. This reprogramming is not the first approved by the institution, which to date has already approved 34 amendments to operational programmes. (PH)
