09/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – A four-member delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) led by Austrian Socialist Stefan Schennach will visit Poland from 10 to 13 July to observe the second round of the presidential election held on Sunday. As it did in the first round, this delegation, accompanied by a constitutional expert from the Venice Commission, will meet members of the special election observation mission sent by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). This election observation procedure is part of the monitoring procedure decided by PACE last January on the basis of a report on the highly contested reforms of the judicial system in Poland. The delegation will make a statement at the end of its visit. (VL)
