European Parliament reiterates that it is not observing Russian constitutional referendum

The European Parliament reiterated on Wednesday 1 July, that it was not observing the Russian constitutional referendum held from 25 June to 1 July, while a group of MEPs are currently in the Crimea, illegally annexed by Russia, for this purpose.

According to the European Platform for Democratic Elections, five French MEPs from the Identity and Democracy Group are currently in the country: Virginie Joron, Hervé Juvin, Jean-Lin Lacapelle, Thierry Mariani and Philippe Olivier. A source within...
