25/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson for the European External Action Service condemned, on Thursday 25 June, the “blind” attacks with drones and ballistic missiles on the night of 22-23 June against the Saudi cities of Riyadh, Jizan and Najran, claimed by the Houthis. These attacks follow an intensification of hostilities in Yemen, where civilians “continue to bear the brunt” of the conflict’s violence. “All attacks against civilians are unacceptable”, the spokesperson said in a statement. Stressing that the latest cross-border attack goes against the efforts of the UN Special Envoy to mediate a ceasefire and resume political negotiations, the EU once again calls on all parties to engage in political talks under UN auspices, according to the EEAS spokesperson.
