25/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – On the eve of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Portuguese Presidency of the Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe announced the launch of an internet platform where frontline workers can share good practices to contain the spread of Covid-19 among drug addicts (https://bit.ly/3i3WQIE ). “In a period of crisis, more than ever, human rights must remain at the forefront of our drug policies”, said João Castel-Branco Goulão on behalf of the Presidency. The Cooperation Group against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (Pompidou Group), established in 1971, was launched by France, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. It was integrated into the Council of Europe in 1980 and now has 41 member states. (VL)
