EU's target of halving number of road deaths by 2020 will not be met

11/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – According to figures released by the European Commission on Thursday 11 June, 22,800 people lost their lives on EU roads in 2019. This represents nearly 7,000 fewer deaths, a 23% decrease from 2010. However, progress has slowed in most EU countries since 2013 and the EU's target of halving the number of road deaths by 2020 will not be met, the institution says.
