11/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 10 June, the Member States' Ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) launched the procedure for approving the terms of reference of the study which will analyse the feasibility of two options for reforming the European financial architecture for development suggested by the 'Wieser' report. Based on Ecofin Council conclusions adopted in December 2019 (see EUROPE 12384/5), the study, which will last 6 months and have a budget of €500,000, will cover: - the transfer of EIB operations outside the EU from the EIB to the EBRD (option 1); - the creation of a subsidiary within the EIB for its activities outside the EU (option 3). The possibility of improving the situation without changing the institutional architecture will also have to be analysed. See the Terms of Reference: https://bit.ly/30ADFjs (MB)
