10/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 9 June, in a press release issued after it had sent its contribution to the public consultation (see EUROPE 12430/22), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) called on the European Commission to take a “bold approach” to the review of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive. ACCA sees the review as an opportunity to expand the scope and quality of corporate reporting to ensure that stakeholders have the information they need in the context of a transition to a more sustainable business model. With regard to scope, ACCA believes that all publicly quoted companies should be subject to the reporting requirements. And, with regard to small entities, ACCA is in favour of a voluntary reporting standard for companies - including SMEs - not within the scope of this new legislation. (MF)
