Ten cities offer to host 5,500 unaccompanied minors

23/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – Ten European city members of the EUROCITIES Solidarity Cities Initiative (Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Barcelona, Ghent, Gent, Groningen, Leipzig, Nuremberg, Tilburg, Utrecht) sent a letter, on Thursday 23 April, to the Presidents of the European Commission, the Council of the EU and the European Parliament in which they propose to relocate on their respective territories around 5,500 unaccompanied children living in Greek camps. These cities are thus ready to welcome children in an equitable manner and to work with national and European authorities to find the necessary accommodation solutions. (PH)
