Member States approve mobilisation of emergency assistance to combat COVID-19

EU ambassadors confirmed their agreement on Wednesday 8 April to proposals to activate €3 billion in 2020 for emergency assistance support to intensify the fight against Coronavirus (see EUROPE B12462A4, B12460A4).

The Committee of Permanent Representatives of Member States to the EU (Coreper) has therefore given the go-ahead on Wednesday 8 April to launch the written procedure for the formal adoption of the texts. The written procedure is expected to be concluded on Tuesday 14 April.
