03/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 2 April, the European Commission announced that it was extending the deadline by 4 weeks for the public consultation on the possible revision of the MiFID Directive and the MiFIR Regulation governing markets in financial instruments (see EUROPE 12427/14) and the review of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (see EUROPE 12430/22). “We are continuing our work on our long-term priorities: the Capital Markets Union, Sustainable finance and FinTech. But for now our focus is on fighting coronavirus emergency”, said Commission Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis on Twitter. Interested stakeholders therefore have until 18 May to respond to the public consultation on the MiFID/MiFIR regulatory framework and until 11 June to respond to the consultation on the Non-Financial Reporting Directive.
