03/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – On 7 April, the Council of the EU might adopt its position from the first reading of the European regulation establishing minimum quality criteria for the safe reuse of urban waste water for agricultural irrigation. The written procedure to enable this outcome was introduced on Friday 3 April and delegations will have until 7 April to make known their position on the text that has resulted from interinstitutional negotiations (a vote for or against, or abstention) (see EUROPE 12382/6). The ambassadors to the EU of the Twenty-Seven (Coreper) gave their go-ahead for formal adoption on 20 March. Formal adoption requires a written procedure, in accordance with amended Council of the EU decision-making procedures (see EUROPE 12451/41). (AN)
