03/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Chair of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, David McAllister (EPP, Germany), the Parliament’s rapporteur on Ukraine, Michael Gahler (EPP, Germany) and the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Parliament’s delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee, Witold Waszczykowski (ECR, Poland), Viola Von Cramon-Taubadel (Greens/EFA, Germany) and Traian Băsescu (EPP, Romania) welcomed, on 3 April, the adoption on 31 March of the land reform bill by the Ukrainian Parliament, which authorises the transfer of agricultural land. In a press release, they stressed that they are waiting for the adoption of legislation on the supervision of banking activities in second reading. "These are important reforms, which pave the way for much-needed International Monetary Fund (IMF) loans and EU macro-financial assistance", they said, adding that they support the Ukrainian Parliament's efforts to fight corruption at all levels.
