20/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Member States gave the green light, on Friday 20 March, and not on 16 March as we had mistakenly written, to the adoption of the EU Council's first-reading position on the European regulation establishing minimum quality criteria for the safe reuse of urban waste water for agricultural irrigation (see EUROPE 12448/26). Uncertainty remains as to when the EU Council's position will be formally adopted, as decision-making procedures have been disrupted by the Covid-19 crisis (see other news). For the regulation to be finally adopted, the European Parliament must also endorse the provisional Interinstitutional Agreement reached on 3 December 2019. (AN)
