20/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The GUE/NGL, the radical-left political group in the European Parliament, published on Thursday 19 March, a four-page European Emergency Response Plan setting out measures to combat the effects of COVID-19. The group proposes to provide “massive” financial support to national public health services, undermined by years of austerity, but also to carry out vast nationalisation operations, “if necessary”. It calls, in general terms, for the suspension of the Stability and Growth Pact and the European rules on State aid. The most emblematic measure is certainly the “unconditional” payment to all European citizens of €2,000 guaranteed by the European Central Bank (ECB). To view the measures: https://bit.ly/2QxkzoO (PH)
