20/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The British negotiator on the future relationship between London and the EU, David Frost, has also placed himself in isolation after showing symptoms of COVID-19, the British media reported. This information was made public one day after EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier announced that he had caught COVID-19 (see EUROPE 12450/12) and as the UK tightens its measures against the pandemic. Speaking on German radio on Friday, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said the Commission would not oppose a British request to extend the transition period; this issues surfaces at a time when negotiations between the two blocs are slowing down and could come to a forced halt.
