03/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Monday, 2 March, the European Commission launched a consultation, which is open until 30 March, in order to prepare a possible initiative to revise the Postal Services Directive. In its announcement, the institution explains that the Postal Services Directive was last revised in 2008 (see EUROPE 9690/11) and notes that the postal sector has undergone major changes since then due to digitisation and e-commerce. The institution explains that this evaluation will make it possible to determine whether the directive is still suitable and whether it is achieving its original objectives.
