24/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – “It is urgent to deliver an ambitious industrial strategy for renewables encompassing both supply-side and demand-side policies”, stressed ten European renewable energy associations in a press release published on Friday 21 February. In their view, a strong industrial policy on renewables is essential to ensure Europe’s long-term security of energy supply and technological leadership. To this end, these organisations recommend that renewable energy technologies be recognised as a ‘key strategic value chain’, thus joining the six strategic areas identified by the European Commission in February 2019 (connected, clean and autonomous vehicles; hydrogen technologies and systems; intelligent health; industrial internet of things; low-emission carbon industry; cybersecurity).
