Adrián Vázquez Lázara elected Chair of European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs

17/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – Spanish MEP Adrián Vázquez Lázara, the Ciudadanos party member in the Renew Europe group who joined the European Parliament after the Brexit (see EUROPE 12423/27), was elected chair of the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) by acclamation on Monday 17 February. Members of the JURI Committee did not support Marie Toussaint’s (Greens/EFA, France) request for more time to exchange views with Mr Vázquez Lázara. After Brexit, the Committee on the Environment must also elect two vice-chairs. (MB)
