21/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – Following a meeting of the coordinators of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) on the Just Transition Fund at the end of the day on Monday 20 January, it was decided that this legislative dossier would be referred to a member of the EPP. As the EPP is the largest parliamentary group in the European Parliament, it has the highest number of points for retrieving the legislative dossier. However, the name of the rapporteur has not yet been decided. The EPP members of REGI have until early Friday afternoon to express their interest in becoming rapporteurs. The possibilities are very open; it is difficult to say who will be chosen by Andrey Novakov (EPP, Bulgaria), the EPP coordinator of REGI. The REGI Committee will be the lead committee following a decision taken by the European Parliament last Thursday (see EUROPE 12406/13). (PH)
