The services of the Presidency of the European Parliament confirmed, on Thursday 16 January, the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) as the committee responsible for monitoring the regulation establishing the Just Transition Fund (JTF).
The coordinators of the REGI Committee will meet in the evening of Monday 20 January to discuss the legislative dossier and possibly appoint the rapporteur for the legislative text. On Tuesday 21 January, the Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, will appear before the REGI Committee for an exchange of views with the MEPs.
There is no doubt that the new and 8th Structural Fund will be at the heart of the discussions as its mode of operation, financing and its linkage with the other structural and investment funds are questioned (see EUROPE 12404/12). (Original version in French by Pascal Hansens)
