17/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – The EPP Group in the European Parliament appointed on Tuesday 14 January its new Secretary-General in the person of Maltese Simon Busuttil. The 50-year-old MEP, who served as an MEP between 2004 and 2013, replaces Martin Kamp, who had been in office since 2007. He will lead a team of 280 people serving a group of 182 MEPs, the numerically largest in Parliament. After his years in the European Parliament, Mr Busuttil was leader of the Maltese Partit Nazzjonalista, then in opposition. (MB)
