09/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – The chairwoman of the ‘Committee on Employment and Social Affairs’ (EMPL), Lucia Duriš Nicholsonová (ECR, Slovakia), sent a letter to the President of the European Parliament on Wednesday 9 October asking him to add an item on the Common Provisions Regulation to the agenda of the Conference of Presidents, to be held on Thursday 10 October. Objective: to obtain a green light to start interinstitutional negotiations (trilogues) with the EU Council. This decision should normally be taken on Thursday 17 October. However, due to the number of files in progress in connection with the hearings of the Commissioners-designate, the decision could once again be postponed (see EUROPE 12334/20), which would further delay the start of negotiations, we are told.
