07/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Danish Minister of Justice, Nick Hækkerup, and the President of Eurojust, Ladislav Hamran, signed, on Monday 7 October, on the sidelines of the ‘Justice’ Council in Luxembourg, a cooperation agreement (see EUROPE 12239/12) made necessary because Copenhagen, which does not participate in Eurojust, is not bound by the reform of the Agency's governance model (see EUROPE 12044/3), which will apply as of 12 December 2019. The agreement specifically provides for the exchange of information and the participation of the representative to Eurojust from Denmark, without the right to vote, in certain operational and strategic meetings. It also contains specific provisions on the jurisdiction of the CJEU and Denmark's contribution to the Eurojust budget. On the same day, the European Ministers of Justice adopted conclusions (see EUROPE 12333/2) calling for the strengthening of Eurojust’s means of action in the digital age. (MF)
