Luxembourg. Council of the EU. Foreign Affairs Council. – Topical issues (new tensions in the Gulf, Venezuela, US Helms-Burton act, US Middle East Peace Plan, adoption of conclusions on the Central Asia Strategy and the EU's engagement in regional cooperation with the countries of the Black Sea region). – EU Global Strategy (Foreign and Defence Ministers): update on the strategy, 3 years after its launch and on its prospects on the basis of the High Representative's report. – Common Foreign and Security Policy: debate on how to improve the effectiveness of the CFSP in the face of new challenges. – Sudan: situation in the country after the latest developments. – Informal exchange of views with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, including on the situation in the Middle East and tensions in the Gulf.

EU-Jordan Association Council. – Association Agreement: update on its implementation and the priorities of the partnership between the two parties. – Follow-up to the 3rd Brussels Conference on Syria and the region (in particular on bilateral trade relations and economic reforms in Jordan). – Signature of an agreement establishing a framework for Jordan's participation in EU crisis management operations.

General Affairs Council. – 2021-2027 Multiannual financial framework: exchange of views on the Presidency's revised draft. – Preparation of the European Council of 20-21/06 and the state of implementation of the European Council's previous conclusions. – Debate on the 2019 enlargement package presented by the Commission at the end of May. – European Semester: examination of a horizontal report on the country recommendations to be transmitted to the European Council starting 20-21/06.

Agriculture and Fisheries Council *Fisheries: – European Maritime and Fisheries Fund after 2020: partial general approach on the Commission's proposal for the next programming period 2021-2027. – Situation of the Common Fisheries Policy and fishing opportunities for 2020. *Agriculture: – Debate on the reform package for the CAP after 2020 and progress on three legislative proposals: regulation on CAP strategic plans, regulation on the common organisation of the single market (single CMO), horizontal regulation on financing, management and CAP monitoring.

Luxembourg. * Court of Justice of the European Union: #Rulings: – C-72/18 (Ustariz Aróstegui - are Spanish contract staff teachers entitled under public law to the additional remuneration for grade enjoyed by civil servant teachers of the same seniority?). – C-100/18 (Línea Directa Aseguradora - does the burning of a vehicle parked in a private car park, caused by causes specific to the vehicle without the intervention of third parties constitute a traffic incident covered by the compulsory insurance of the vehicle owner?). – C-682/17 (ExxonMobil Production Deutschland – definition of the concept of "electricity producer" and consequences of an installation's status as an electricity producer on the allocation of free allowances under the greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme). #Conclusions: C-192/18 Commission/Poland – legality under EU law of the Polish legislation imposing a different retirement age for judges for women and men serving as judges of ordinary courts, Supreme Court judges and prosecutors and giving the Minister of Justice the power to extend the term of office of judges).
