Leo Varadkar fears that a change of Prime Minister in United Kingdom will increase risks of leaving without an agreement

28/05/2019 (Agence Europe)Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said he feared that the United Kingdom would leave the EU “without a deal” when he arrived at the informal Summit of Heads of State or Government. “I think there is a growing risk of no deal. There is a possibility that the new British prime minister may try to repudiate the withdrawal agreement”, he said. But “there is of course a possibility that there may be a new British government that might follow a different course, a more European course”. He qualified this by saying, “what I can say is the European Union and Ireland will stand firm in our position that there can't be a hard border”. Theresa May, the British leader, reiterated her “regret” that she had not achieved the United Kingdom's exit from the EU and stressed that she had always defended an exit from the EU “with a deal”.
