28/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – European students will be able to continue to benefit from the same conditions of access to British schools during the 2020-2021 academic year, announced the British Minister for Universities, Chris Skidmore. Speaking in Brussels on Tuesday 28 May, he said that, just as with this year, EU nationals who will start a higher education course in England next year will remain eligible for financial support, loans for advanced learners or support for further training and apprenticeship. "It is important to remember that, even if we have chosen to leave the EU, we are not leaving Europe and that our universities benefit from the diversity of global institutions", commented the Minister. Looking ahead, work is underway "knowing that the government is working towards a smooth and organised exit from the United Kingdom as soon as possible", the press release states. (SPj)
