Total support of €293.5 million from EU Solidarity Fund for Austria, Italy and Romania

15/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 15 May aid from the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) of €293.5 million for Austria (€8.1 million for floods and landslides in autumn 2018), Italy (€277.2 million for the same natural disasters as Austria) and Romania (€8.2 million after the summer 2018 floods). According to a report published by the Commission (see other news), Romania has received a total of €119 million since 2005, Italy has received €2.5 billion since 2009 and Austria €170.7 million since 2002. As a reminder, the European Commission has not presented an EUSF initiative for the next financial framework, as its budget remains outside the European budget. (PH)
